The Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships are available for candidates who are from least developed and lower middle income Commonwealth countries. This scholarship is for candidates who wish to enroll for part-time Master’s study by distance learning on selected courses offered by UK universities.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

The Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship covers tuition fees and study grants where required.

Eligibility:

If you are interested in applying for this scholarship, you must:

• Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person

• Be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country

• Hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard. A lower qualification and sufficient relevant experience may be considered in certain cases

• Be unable to afford to study the programme without this scholarship

Application instructions:

Interested candidates must apply to study an eligible Master’s course at a UK university that is participating in the Distance Learning scheme. As a candidate for this scholarship, you must also secure admission to your course in addition to applying for a Distance Learning Scholarship. You have to make enquiries with the university you chose for their specific advice on when you should apply, admission requirements, including the rules for applying for the scholarship.

Candidates applying for the Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship must ensure their application is made using the CSC’s Electronic Application System (EAS), in addition to any other application that the chosen university requires them to use in completing the application. Every application must be submitted by 18:00 (GMT) on March 15 at the latest (or any other stipulated deadline). You also have to submit all supporting documents by 17:00 (GMT) on April 5 (or any other stipulated deadline).
