Fully Funded Scholarships in Kyung Hee University, South Korea

Kyung Hee University (KHU) invites international students to apply for the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) university track. This scholarship is provided for various departments with PhD and Master degrees.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for students who meet the following criteria;

You have not applied for GKS University Track in other universities

You must meet the educational background and language requirements given by the chosen study program

You should have CGPA at least 2.64 out of 4.0 or equal or ranked within the top 20% in your past education

You should be under 40 years of age (or a maximum of 45 years old for applicants that are academic professors in the Official Development Assistance (ODA) countries).

You should be a citizen of any GKS partnering countries that are not Korean citizens and do not have parents with Korean citizenship and do not currently hold Korean double citizenship.

You must be healthy physically and mentally for the duration of the program

Students that are GKS Scholars are allowed to apply with extra requirements

The department available at the Seoul Campus are Korean Language & Literature, English Language & Literature, History, Philosophy, Law, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Economics, International Trade, Business Administration, Health Service Management, Accounting, Hotel Management, Convention & Exhibition Management, Culture & Tourism Contents, Smart Tourism Education Platform, Global Hospitality & Tourism, Housing & Interior Design, Clothing & Textiles, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Food & Nutrition, Fundamental Pharmaceutical Sciences, Oriental Pharmaceutical Science, Biomedical & Pharmaceutical Science, Music, Fine Art, Medicine, Biomedical Science, Neuroscience, Dentistry, Science in Korean Medicine, and Biomedical Science & Technology. The Seoul Campus also provide Interdisciplinary program in Information Display, East-west Medicine, Medical Engineering, Philosophy in Korean Medicine, History in Korean Medicine, Biological Sciences in Korean Medicine, Applied Korean Medicine, Medical Science of Meridian System, Cancer Preventive Material Development, Integrated Medical Humanities, Smart City Planning & Real Estate, and Big Data Analytics.

While the department available at the Global Campus are Electronics & Information Convergence Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Visual Information Design, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Big Data Analytics, Mechanical Engineering, International Korean Language & Culture, Architecture, Chemistry, Industrial & Management Systems Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, East-Asian Language & Literature, Plant & Environmental New Resources, Landscape Architecture, Physics, and British-American Language & Culture.

Interested candidates are required to choose only one study program.

Duration of Scholarship

The scholarship duration will depend on the program chosen by the awardees.

For master students, the scholarship will be given for a maximum of 3 years. While for the PhD students, the scholarship will be given for a maximum of 4 years. The duration of the scholarship includes 1 year of Korean lessons before the course starts (except for awardees that already meet the Korean language requirement for the study program they are applying for at KHU, then they can start the course earlier).

Read the application requirements released by the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) and by the program you are applying to at KHU.

Make sure you are eligible to apply for the study programs you choose before applying.

Download the application form and fill in all parts of the application

Submit the application form with all of the required documents based on the criteria via post to the KHU Admission Office in the chosen campus before the closing date of application.

Undergraduate degree certificate and transcript with notarization by Korean Embassy or Apostille

Results of English and Korean proficiency test (optional)

Once you submit the documents they will not be returned. Documents must be submitted in the original copy (or photocopy approved by the institution releasing them). Some programs and cases might require applicants to submit additional documents. You must use certified translation to submit documents that are not using English or Korean language.
